Charts, Diagrams and Graphs
Spreadsheets and graphs are used to take sets of data and place them in a format that makes it in a realistic and understandable order and manner. Different charts are used for different data sets and purposes, based off of what kind of data is being shown, how the data relates to eachother, and the desired reaction the chart is made for. The purpose of a chart, graph or diagram is to represent data sets in an easy to understand and interesting manner, so even if the audience doesn't understand the formulas/mechanics of the data sets, they can see how the data is related and what it means. It is sometimes better to present data as graphic rather than numerical or with words because the numbers and words might be so long that they just distract the audience or confuse the audience from what the data really means. You can use a graph to map out how much money you pay per restaurant each month so you can see which is a better deal.

Using Math Formulas
You use math formulas all the time, from figuring out profits to the cost of a party. Excel can help you with these since it does the formulas for you. It does them in order of preference, like in math: multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction, in that order.
Formulas are very important to businesses and the individual adult, even kid. You can use them for calculating how much money you have free each month, what going to the movies weekly costs you, and much more.

Introduction to Excel
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that is very accessible and can be used to organize numerical and even non-numerical data, from dates and events to names and addresses to products and prices. It is used by people all over the world to organize their information, from huge corporations organizing shipments to moms organizing their schedules.
Before excel, microsoft had multiplan, the first spreadsheet program, and that was made to work on at least 50 different types of computers, but that got leapfrogged by it's rival, Lotus 123. They then began makig a new spreadsheet program called oddysey, and that later was called excel. It was designed to be much more accessible to the average person and it got a better look, shortcuts and tabs, and automatic functions to make it the best spreadsheet on the market.
Businesses can use excel to organize their spending, profits and net worth, and they can even use it to organize their workers by expertise or station. Excel is preferred by many for its built-in formulas becaus they like to have everything right in front of them within easy reach, and what's easier than it being built in already? Excel has many differences from Word, like how it is just one big table whereas Word is like lined paper. Recently, Excel has even been made available on mobile smartphones, so you can use it on the go!

Business and Personal Letters
Business and Personal Business letters are both used by businesses or the people in them. They are professional, and they are either from a business to a business or a individual to a business or vice-versa. Personal business letters don't use letterheads like business letters, but otherwise there is not much difference other than the individual's home address precedes the date line at the top. It is important to format theses correctly to appear as a smart, informed, and well-mannered person or organization.
